As a result of continued success in the marketplace, NOV CTES is now seeking a Well Modeling Engineer to join our team in Conroe, Texas.
The Well Modeling Engineer is responsible for providing software modeling analysis for client well intervention and drilling operations. This position reports to our Software Manager.
The Well Modeling Engineer will:
- Provide customers with software modeling support, analysis, recommendations, and/or reports concerning advanced well intervention and drilling scenarios.
- Work closely with the software team to provide innovative ideas, and perform independent software testing and validation.
- Present and explain technical information to diverse audiences.
- Provide customers with software training courses (1-3 day duration) at their location.
- Document software support activities and issues in a company database.
- Co-author technical publications and/or articles for industry trade journal publications.
The Wellbore Modeling Engineer is also responsible for staying abreast of current E&P industry modeling techniques and identifying future enhancements to be incorporated in our software products.
Desirable Qualifications:
- B.S. Engineering degree with 7-10 years in-depth experience with coiled tubing and wireline well intervention, drilling, and completion operations
- Adept at utilizing oilfield pre-job modeling software to select proper equipment for field operations and to mitigate risks
- Organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to present and explain technical information to diverse audiences
- “Quick study” of new concepts or technologies
- Self-starter with multi-tasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
