| ORION™ SOFTWARE
FOR COILED TUBING OPERATIONS |
|
The Orion software
and Data Simulator features real-time CT limits monitoring
and alarms, as well as fatigue calculations. The Data Simulator
generates simulated wellsite data automatically or manually
from a control panel. Some of the more advanced features require
the Cerberus software.
Real-Time
Limit & Force Monitors & Fatigue Monitor
The Limit Monitor and Force
Monitor use real-time Orion data to display the CT status.
The Limit Monitor displays
the CT status both above the stripper (green dot) and
below the stripper (red dot). If either dot passes outside
the red ellipse a visual and audible warning is given
to the operator.

The Force Monitor plots the
CT depth and weight against a graph of predicted weights,
for running in hole, and pulling out of the hole. You
can also view minimum and maximum surface weights.

You can drag a zoom window
on the graphs for a closer view, and print hard copy.
The Monitor displays can either be set to remain "on
top" while working on other programs or they can
be minimized.
Both Monitors also run with
the Data Simulator and in Playback Mode, so you can program
various wellsite scenarios for use as operator training
exercises. |
Displays
Data is read
and displayed on screen typically every second.
-
Large
digital display for ease in viewing at a glance from
afar.
-
Small
digital display for the operator to view when using
the computer for other work.
-
Strip
charts to show trends in the data.
-
Data log
to show what data has actually been saved to the
hard drive.
-
Data buffer
showing raw data as it comes from the controller.
-
Three
dimensional well survey path showing the curvature
in the well and the current depth.
-
Limit,
Force, and Fatigue monitors.
Data
Processing
All data is
processed in memory and written to the database every
10-60 seconds. All preferences can be set by the user
and stored.
- Averaging data points
to smooth out fluctuations in sensor readings.
- Filtering data points
to conserve hard drive space without loosing important
information.
- Virtual gain and offset
for data points.
- Custom display units.
- Alarms to warn when
inputs from a channel are in an unsafe range.
